Fusion Lounge

Fusion is the Youth Programme run by the Bendigo Baptist Church, for youth in Year 11 & 12. Fusion is broken into two groups: Deep Fusion & Fusion Lounge. For meeting times and places click here.

Why 'Fusion'? Well the definition of fusion is:

"a nuclear reaction in which nuclei combine (come together) to form more massive nuclei with the simultaneous release of energy "

It was thought that this could be used to describe the senior youth group. A meeting of young people resulting in great amounts of directed energy that can amount to something bigger than that which originally started. By ourselves we are not as strong, but when we come together, the results can be 'explosive' and greatly impact our community and surrounding areas. (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10)

Deep Fusion

Deep Fusion is based on Bible Study and growing in our walk with God. A Deep Fusion night may include: watching a short DVD and then discussing it, a devotion based on either the DVD or a topic of choice, food, games and hanging out.

REFRESHING PEACE FOR THE MIND, BODY & SOUL
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Through the Fusion Lounge, we want to create an environment that will engage senior students at their felt need, and give them the opportunity to encounter their real need: Jesus. We want to create an environment where the power and truth about God and the life that he offers is not only heard about, but also seen in action.

We want to put our faith into action
We want to put God on display
We want senior students to be given the opportunity to see, smell, touch, hear and taste the goodness of God and the peace only he can offer.

We want to offer the senior students a refreshing peace:

For their mind and body - through the activities designed to relieve stress
For their soul - through word and action, helping them encounter Jesus.

We will see Bendigo’s Senior Secondary aged youth...

Mentoring

Starting in 2008, Fusion hopes to set up a mentoring programme for the youth of Fusion. The mentoring will be done 1-on-1 or in small groups.
